Hello! Welcome to the Cicada Ink webshop. We’re based in Eastbourne, a sunny seaside village across the harbour from Wellington, NZ.
Cicada Ink is a one-woman operation, run by Jess Nickelsen. After several years of wishing for a greater variety of fountain pen inks with more affordable shipping options, Jess decided to do something about it.
Every ink in the shop gets tested in Jess’s study before it goes on the site, across a range of nibs, pens, and papers. “Notes from the study” comments on the product pages are based on actual use rather than manufacturer descriptions.
We’re starting with inks from Taiwan and South Korea: brands you won’t easily find in Aotearoa, with more coming as the shop grows.
