Notes from the study: Monet was quite the fan of these chalk cliffs in the north of France. Made using his plein-air method, which required “rapid adjustments as weather and tide altered the scene.” The picture on the ink box is simply titled “Cliffs at Etretat”. The turquoise colour here, lends itself (I think) to the feeling of the sky at sunrise. I do love this colour; it reminds me of my desert-island favourite, Colorverse Photon. The gold shimmer is a fantastic combo with the greeny-blue ink. (Has not left my pen since I inked it up for these notes.)

Dominant Industry is a South Korean ink maker established in 2020. It’s known for richly-coloured standard inks and shimmering Pearl inks, which come packaged in a beautiful teardrop-shaped bottle.
